The surgery is open between the hours of 8.00am and 6.30pm Monday to Friday.

Instead of having a doctor from each practice being on duty at night and at weekends, as well as doing their normal work during the day, all the local doctors have joined together to form a "co-operative" to share the emergency work. The doctors are based in the Emergency Primary Care Centre located beside the Accident and Emergency department at Macclesfield District General Hospital.

Out of hours provision is now organised by Eastern Cheshire Primary Care Trust. Some of the Doctors at Cumberland House work for this out of hours service.

If you have an emergency medical problem that will not wait until normal surgery hours you must contact the centre by telephone on 01625 502999.

You will be able to speak to the doctor or nurse at the centre and explain the problem. You may be given advice or asked to attend the centre. Home visits will be made only where necessary e.g. the very elderly, terminally ill or those in nursing homes.
